Arizona Game Jam 2025 Trophy and Animation

OVERVIEW

In one of my recent client projects, an old professor of mine who is now the head of game design at GCU, recently was part of the Game Jam competition. Where multiple schools from Arizona would meet and compete to see who can create the best game with limited assets. He was looking for a volunteer from the class to 3D model a trophy and create an animated ad to help hype up the event. Since the event was going to happen very soon, he needed these assets and animation finished within the span of 5 days.

About the project

Since this trophy was going to be 3D printed and animated, I had to create 2 versions of this model, one low poly for the animation and the other would be high poly for the print because printers would need a higher resolution file. For the animated version, I textured the base in Substance Painter, while texturing the main trophy body in procedural texture in Blender. For the print I just left it as is as the texture maps won’t affect the print, so I would just focus on cleaning up the model make sure there wasn’t any issues with the print. Following the brand guide that was already established, I had to utilize those assets to create the motion graphics as well as including logos for the schools included in on this project, as well as recognizing who helped make this event possible.
