My next challenge for this Yetis team is to provide some context for this team. It wasn’t enough in my mind to just create branding and fun motion graphics for this team. I needed to give them a purpose, a rivalry. Enter the Manitoba Moose, another prototypical team that I had started on shortly after the Yetis came into fruition. This team would be located on the outskirts of Winnipeg. Giving the city of Winnipeg another team and fans can diversify their options of teams to root for. This project gave me an opportunity to create more branding and strengthen my skills in those areas. In this piece, I wanted to create a TV network cutaway, so usually when the sporting resumes back from commercial there is usually a quick animation with the two teams to remind fans coming back from commercial or for fans who are just starting to tune in. So in this piece I wanted to create an entire 3D modeled environment, to give me more skills in the 3D workspace. To follow the brand of the Alaska Yetis, I made the scene to be placed in an old frozen cave, filled with stalagmites and stalactites, drenched in fog. With the logos being covered in snow and placed on wood plates that are worn down and withered.
